If you’re looking for reliable snow, high altitude skiing and a charming Swiss village then look no further than Saas-Fee.
You’ll spend most of your time skiing here at between 2500m and 3500m – something that is pretty much unrivalled in Europe. What this means is that great snow is pretty much guaranteed, especially as the resort possesses one of the largest glacier ski areas in the Alps. The two nearby areas – included on the wider area lift pass – of Saas-Grund and Saas-Almagell add good variety to what is a relatively compact ski area.
The traditional Swiss mountain village is more picturesque and quieter than its near neighbour Zermatt, but there is still a great selection of accommodation, bars and restaurants to choose from. Off slope activities are extremely popular in Saas-Fee – in fact the whole Hannig Mountain and its gondola is set aside for tobogganers, winter walkers, cross-country skiers and snowshoers.
There’s no better way to explore Saas-Fee than on a Freshtracks holiday – this winter we have a great trip aimed at single skiers heading out on January 12th. If you can’t make this, then the Ski Club Rep Service is on hand to provide you with the best tips for your holiday, both on and off the slopes. A Rep will be in town between the December and April.
