They say

Thanks to a unique Elliptic Titanal Sandwich core construction the Black Majic’s have exceptional torsional stiffness, while Scott’s unique sidecut provide increased precision, forgiveness and confidence in all terrain and snow conditions.

We say

The Black Majic felt quite different to a lot of other skis we tested in this group, the unique construction and nose rocker sets it apart from the norm for piste performance. It works really well in long fast arcs where it gives good edge hold, while vibration is kept well in check as it constantly delivers a smooth ride. The rockered profile really helps in making adjustments through the arc, it’s very easy to pivot and change direction. In short turns the wider platform makes them slower from edge to edge, while it lacks rebound coming out of the turn. Overall, a good, fun ski, that would also work well as an all mountain choice.

Tester Comments

Al Morgan
Really this is more of an all mountain ski. It’s easy to use and is good for someone spending most of their time on piste and wanting to do a bit of off piste
John Taylor
An excessive tip rocker for a piste ski, makes it hard to engage for short turns or long turns
