Losing his lower leg to bone cancer in 2007, lawyer Matt Short then had to battle lung cancer in 2010. After winning this fight and being inspired by the achievements of the Paralympians at London 2012 he decided to try skiing again in 2012. Building on the skills he learned as a child and a drive to succeed he quickly rose through the ranks and placed inside the top 20 at the World Championships in 2017. As well as his busy lifestyle balancing his career as a lawyer and as an athlete, Matt is the founder of the Ewings Sarcoma Research Trust charity.
