There are lots of different ski transfer companies to choose from, helping you go directly from the airport to your chalet or hotel door. Here is our handy guide for travelling in the mountains
If you’re travelling to resort independently, make sure you touch down at the airport with a plan. You don’t want to be left standing next to a pile of luggage with no exit strategy. Here you can find some useful links for ski transfers to help you on your way once you’ve landed.
Often the most convenient way to get from the airport to your chosen ski resort is to hire a car. If you’re a Ski Club member you can save up to 15% with car hire discounts. Many European airports have great links to buses and trains, often delivering you and your gear all the way to resort. In Switzerland they offer a service on their trains called Swiss Fly + Luggage where you can get your luggage sent direct to your destination even if you have to make changes on your rail journey.
Even if you are not travelling with a tour operator, it is sometimes possible to buy a space on their transfer bus. You are best to contact the tour operator direct to see if they can do this.
Companies including Ski-Lifts.com, Findtransfers.com and BlaBlaCar.co.uk are both really useful sites to visit if you're looking to book a transfer, taxi or car share in Europe. Speciallising in both private and shared transfers, Findtransfers connects ski travellers with hundreds of local taxi companies that operate vehicles of every size to get you up the mountain. Similarly, using BlaBlaCar.co.uk, drivers and passengers can find, offer and book lifts, and view the profiles of fellow travellers. Alpy Bus is a good low-cost option which also offers larger vehicles if people are travelling in big numbers.
To help you find out transfer options to your resort, we have put together a table which gives details of buses, trains and private transfers from all the major ski airports.
The Ski Club team have also worked hard to negotiate special discounts on transfers for Ski Club members.
