This month we have a special talk from our Ski Club Archivist!

This month we have  two archivists  from the De Montfort University (DMU) Special Collections who will talk about the way in which the Ski Club of Great Britain archive has been preserved and catalogued. The talk will begin with an introduction to the work of DMU, setting the Ski Club collection in the context of sports history academic work and other sports collections held by DMU. Following this introduction there  there will be a presentation about  the work involved in cataloguing the Ski Club archives, describing the processes of organising and packaging and creating the catalogue entries, illustrated with images of Ski Club treasures.

The talk & presentation will culminate with a practical demonstration of how to search and browse the catalogue online.

The talk will commence at 6.30 pm until 7.30pm. You are welcome to arrive from 6pm to get a drink prior to the talk.
Following the talk we invite you to stay on in the Pery room to have a drink/ food and catch up with fellow members.
